Fall

It's a beautiful fall day here today. I love the Fall. I love hiking in the forests on the Lake in the crisp fall breeze and the colors. I went for a walk on MSU's campus today. Down the river, by my favorite buildings, over to the stadium. Through the library, I sat at my table on the fourth floor by the river. I love campuses in the fall. The energy, the newness. This morning really got me excited about leaving and starting school. This is going to be a good time.

...Then in the Arctic half-light of the canyon, all existence fades to a being with my soul and a four-count rhythm and the hope that a fish will rise. Eventually, all things merge into one and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world’s great flood and flows over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs. I am haunted by waters.

-Norman Maclean, A River Runs Through It-
