A Grand Adventure
Nine days from now I will be somewhere over the Atlantic ocean on my way to the greatest adventure I have ever undertaken. The wings of a Boeing 747 will take me to a city where great men have done great things, and where inspirational men have studied and formulated ideas that have changed the course of human events. I only hope that I can follow humbly in their footsteps and take their example as my inspiration to strive greatly towards my own ends. I will be attending Brunel University as a Masters candidate in Cross Cultural Psychology. I hope to gain from this endeavor an education first and foremost, to learn what it means to embrace all cultures and approach the world with compassionate understanding. I also hope to take this opportunity to learn through experience, about a city I have never visited, about people I have never met, and about myself. Finally I see myself finally setting out in the direction I have for so long felt is my destiny. As much as it's rewards, the challenges it presents are what inspire this journey. Alone, far from all things familiar, and confronting issues that have proven difficult in the past. I feel strengthened by the opportunity to confront and grow.
I intend this blog to be a chronicle of my times and experiences. As a record for myself as well as a line of communication to those who I will be separated from.
And so as I pack and finalize plans in the next week I will be preparing mentally to make the most of this adventure and myself.
Leap and the net will appear.
