The Moon's Riding High
Let us not look back in anger or forward in fear, but around in awareness.
-James Thurber-
Well, I decided on Scotland this weekend. Its a long story and not really one worth recounting, so Ireland is going to have to wait.
Tonight I am feeling, I don't know, heavy. Lonely. Maybe not lonely, but definitely alone. Alone can be liberating at times and strengthening, and at times it can push you in a good direction. But there are times, and don't get me wrong I am ok with them, when it is just lonely. This is not a plea for sympathy or a call to arms for my family and friends. It is a documentation of my feelings. And tonight I wish I didn't have to sleep alone, wake up alone, and be strong all day tomorrow. I wish I had a friend to lean on here, just for a minute.
Bedtime for me. Goodnight friends. 'Till tomorrow.
These mist covered mountains
Are a home now for me
But my home is the lowlands
And always will be
Some day you'll return to
Your valleys and your farms
And you'll no longer burn
To be brothers in arm
Through these fields of destruction
Baptism of fire
I've watched all your suffering
As the battles raged higher
And though they did hurt me so bad
In the fear and alarm
You did not desert me
My brothers in arms
There's so many different worlds
So many different suns
And we have just one world
But we live in different ones
Now the sun's gone to hell
And the moon's riding high
Let me bid you farewell
Every man has to die
But it's written in the starlight
And every line on your palm
We're fools to make war
On our brothers in arms
